The Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organisation and the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism announce the commencement from 07.07.2014 of the period for submission of applications for information and promotion measures/programmes for wines on the basis of the “National Support Scheme 3b: Promotion of Wines in Third Countries and the Internal Market”. The Scheme is implemented within the framework of the Council of Ministers’ Decision dated on 30.04.2014 and Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2013 establishing a common organisation of the markets in agricultural products.
The aim of this National Support Scheme is the information provision and promotion of European / Cyprus wines in Third Counties and the Internal Market by implementing informational and/or promotional measures/programmes through the subschemes 3b(1) and 3b(2), as outlined below:
Subscheme 3b(1) – third countries: support for information and promotion measures/programmes for European/Cyprus wines with a protected designation of origin (PDO) or Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) or wines with an indication of the wine grape variety
Subscheme 3b(2) – internal market: support for information measures aiming at informing consumers about responsible consumption of wine and the risk associated with alcohol consumption as well as the Union schemes of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications.
Application forms may be obtained from the Section for the Promotion of Agricultural Products of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism and from the website www.mcit.gov.cy/ts. Applications duly completed must be submitted the latest by Friday 01.08.2014.The application forms may be submitted via the registered mail or by hand to the following mailing address:
